Snow Plow Silver Plume 11x14 oil studio
You know how some paintings just paint them selves and they look great, well this one didn't want to get painted. It was a struggle from the time I started to sketch it, 3 times I had to draw it and then the paint didn't want behave. Doesn't it look like a battle took place? I feel like I have been through a snow storm and I am all worn out from the struggle. The next paintings is going to be a lot easier.

Dawson Butte Ranch Early Morning 9x12 oil
Painted at Dawson Butte Ranch near Castle Rock with Ted and Holly and Jon. It was a very cool and cloudy morning but by the time 10 ish rolled around the sun came out and it started to warm up. Like Ted says, "A beautiful day for February."

Country Road Winter 9x12 oil -studio- painted from a photo taken on South Turkey Creek Road, This is a third "road" painting in this series. I am really liking what is happening with these paintings. Really a lot of fun.
Gateway Open Space 9x12 oil -plein air- PAAC met at Gateway Open Space near Castle Rock. Three of us enjoyed the amazing weather. Yea, its a little cool but standing in the sun made the temperature feel like summer. It was great. Had to watch out for the bright sun off of the snow. It is easy to get snow blind, it was so bright.

S Curve 16x20 oil
We were going to go paint to day but this morning was snowy and it looked a little too yukky to travel. So I stayed home to paint. This is from a photo taken up by Grand Lake.
